2025 Genesis GV60 Magma – Introduction

Genesis recently unveiled its new generation GV60 Magma in a private event held a few days ago in New York. The GV60 Magma is a late-stage concept that will be put into production. This is the Genesis GV60 Magna is a high-performance vehicle.

This car is fully electric. The outer body is decked out. It has a new wing, bigger wheels, and a relaxed aero wheel style with aerodynamics designed to provide extra cooling for the battery.

The battery is about 80 kW hr between the axles. This car is running Ioniq 5 N internal. It shares the Hyundai Group’s E-GMP platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

So, there is up to 478 kW of power in over-boost, but it is still to be confirmed.

Genesis is launching a performance division to rival BMW’s M and Mercedes’s AMG. The highlight is the electric GV60 “Magma,” a high-performance version of the GV60 SUV.

2025 Genesis GV60 Magma Exterior Design

Genesis GV60 Magma has a significantly sportier style with an aerodynamic design. Its main attractions are its bright orange color and low, wider stance.

It has a new air dam from the front side, while some fender flares and apparent suspension work support its wider stance.

The new, redesigned giant front grill intakes a high volume of air, which helps cool the car’s brakes, battery, and motor.

It offers aerodynamic sets of fins for better air flow at the roof —better than its base models.

The GV60 Magna now has a bigger 21-inch 5-spoke wheel with a spoiler and rear diffuser that match, complimenting the color.

The GV60 Magna also includes brake-cooling integrated aero discs and spiky rear wings, giving the car’s overall design a sportier look.

Inside the cabin, the GV60 Magna offers fine premium Napa Leather and some parts made of Alcantara. The seating has double diamond stitching and color-matched seatbacks.

It also has a screen at the door panel of the passenger side that might show live footage from the side view cameras outside the car.

Conclusion

Genesis has not reported further details regarding the car’s specs, release date, and pricing. Though the company has only said it will have a more powerful battery and motor, the GV60 Magna is still a concept car for now.

We can only assume that it will be based on and perform similarly to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and the Kia EV6 GT, both powerful electric vehicles that share mechanical similarities with the GV60.

Likewise, Genesis displayed new models at the New York Auto Show, like the GV80 Coupe concept. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if a GV80 Coupe Magma version was released soon.
