Lexus UX 300h Hybrid: Overview

The upcoming hybrid model from Lexus offers some of the coolest features. Power is now upgraded, and Lexus named it a UX 300h Hybrid.

The version offers a new color scheme, including some tweaks to the outside design.

This is a 5th generation hybrid system from Lexus, which means that it is super efficient as well.

This SUV has a 2.0-liter gas engine with two impressive motor generators and a gear system that never stops shifting. Compared to the previous model, which used to generate 181 hp, this new version pumps out 196 hp.

And if you like the design of the new UX 300 h hybrid, then you have to pay some extra cash because it offers some of the latest upgrades along with its stylish aesthetics.

Also, a higher price includes more power, which is worth the buck with a more powerful hybrid engine.

Talking about its price, the Lexus UX 300 h hybrid base version starts at $37,490, but if you want to upgrade it to the higher model, it will cost an extra $2000.

Design & Aesthetic

The new 2025 Lexus 300 h hybrid includes some minor changes compared to the previous model. Starting with the color, it now comes in a unique color scheme called Copper Crest.

There’s a little upgrade on the door panel buttons, and the F sports handling version gets the new finishes.

Inside the cabin, it offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen digital gauge cluster for the base trim, whereas the Premiun and the F sports handling get the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen.

The same goes for the center touchscreen. The base model gets the smaller 7.0-inch screen, whereas the Premiun and the F Sport Handling get the bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Lastly, the F Sport Handling offers a standard power rear door, which can be controlled through the kick sensor. This feature is only available for the 2025 model.

For safety features, the new 2025 Lexus 300 h Hybrid includes some of the latest features and options, like Lexus’s Safety System+ 3.0 as standard, which are:

  • Pedestrian detection
  • Emergency braking
  • Left turn oncoming vehicle detection/braking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane, keep assisting.
  • Lane departure warnings
  • Car to read road signs
  • Display the appropriation icon on the dashboard.

Battery and powertrains

Lexus says that their new 300-h hybrid is packed with more power and reliability.

This new model gets the latest feature, which is called a hybrid transaxle, along with a lightweight lithium-ion battery that supports delivering high power while maintaining other things in a systematic manner.

The battery on the old model used to cover the larger space in the trunk, resulting in a smaller area for the legroom for the passenger seat, but now the battery in the new model lives right under the rear seat, offering enough storage space and legroom.

Now, there’s enough space where passengers can sit comfortably and put their luggage easily without sacrificing power.

Powertrain

Lexus also reported that the 300-h hybrid model comes in two different versions: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Both of these two models offer an inline-four 2.0-liter engine that is capable of producing 150 hp. It has a front-mounted permanent synchronous electric motor and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Here, the front motor produces 110 hp, whereas the rear motor produces 40 hp. The company reports that when combined powers form both motors, the total hybrid output is 196 hp.

The new 2025 Lexus UX 30 h hybrid replaces its old-school cables and gears and switches to electrical signals to shift gears. This electrical signal is possibly due to its latest features, called the schmancy shift by wire technology. This upgrade supports shifting gear way faster and smoother than ever before.

And now, with the new powerful hybrid engine and the latest technology, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.9 seconds in all-wheel-drive form.

Lexus reports that the Front Wheel Drive trims offer a combined fuel efficiency rating of 43 mpg, while the All Wheel Drive version offers 41 mpg. This shows that the FWD gets 1 mpg more than the previous model, while the AWD gets 2 mpg more.

Lexus UX 300h Hybrid Price and Trims

Coming to the cost and options with the 2025 UX, if you want to buy an expensive trim and want all the latest tech and features, you can go for the Premium trim, which will cost an extra $40,690.

Now, if you love the sporty look, there are two F Sport versions that you can choose from. 1. F Sport Design, which is all about design and aesthetics and will cost you $41,440.
