Here are the major highlights:

  • Once fully charged, it offers a range of 250 miles backed up by a 51.0-kWh battery.
  • The Ypsilon delivers a maximum power of 154 HP to the front wheels.
  • It now has more than 20 HP compared to Opel Corsa-e & Pugeout e-208, two of the closest competitors.

Overview

New LANCIA YPSILON EDIZIONE LIMITATA CASSINA, is the first of its kind, an electric vehicle sold in Italy as a limited edition of 1906 numbered and certified pieces.

This model stands out for its exceptional design, comfort, and a feeling of well-being inside the car.

The interior offers a blue theme covering the seats, which is called a “Cannelloni” design, and the dashboard and door panel inserts.

A new feature in this car is the Cassina multifunctional “tavolino,” a table that can also charge smartphones, introduced in an automobile.

The overall interior design of this car feels premium and cosy.

2024 Lancia Ypsilon Exterior

The distinctive sporty bodywork closely resembles the Peugeot e-208 & Opel e-Corsa. At the same time, the redesign of the hexagonal headlights below with LED light and circular taillights is inspired by their iconic rally Stratos sports car, which also incorporates the Y motif.

The Stellantis brand has incorporated a “Y” shape into the lighting at both the front and rear of the vehicle, and there are separate daytime running lights that follow the same design.

The round shape of the rear lights is reminiscent of the Stratos, a feature not unique to Lancia cars.

The car has glossy black finishes on the wheel arches, side mirrors, and the rear pillar.

2024 Lancia Ypsilon Interior

The inside cabin offers a significant change from its French counterpart, with a standard dual-screen setup.

The dual screens are each 10.25 inches, and the car has a wireless charging pad and three USB-C ports, allowing smartphone connections through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

This modern city car also features a unique sound system, ambient lighting, and a special air conditioning filter that eliminates 99 % of harmful particles.

Fortunately, physical buttons that allow easy access to some climate controls are still available.

Its seats come with massaging and heating features of recycled yarn with blue velvet-ribbed fashion style or uniquely textured materials.

Added Features Includes:

  • Ambient-lighting
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • A wireless phone charger
  • 3-USB-C ports
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane-keep assist to control speed and steering path
  • Traffic-jam assist

Power & Range

The 2024 electric Lancia Ypsilon has a front-mounted motor which is capable of producing a max power of 154 HP and 192 pound-feet of torque which is more than 20 HP compared to the Opel Corsa-e & Pugeout e-208.

On a single charge, it’s equipped with a 51-kWh battery pack that lasts up to 250 miles (403 kilometres).

Lancia reported that recharging from 20 to 80 per cent can take as little as 24 minutes.

This electric motor and battery setup is also used in another Stellantis vehicle, the Opel e-Corsa.

This new 2024 Lancia Ypsilon will be on sale through more than 70 dealerships across Europe. However, Ypsilon might go on sale in the United States in a year.

Lancia aims to attract younger auto enthusiasts, precisely 40-45, with this premium hatchback, the last model to feature combustion engines.

Dimensions

The 2024 Ypsilon is 161 inches long but shorter than an old model of the Kia Rio sedan by about 10 inches.

Doing well in the United States must be more significant. Starting in 2028, Lancia will only sell electric cars. This indicates that the company will no longer produce mild-hybrid gasoline engines but rather focus on electric.

Lancia plans to bring back the “Gamma” model in 2026 as their top car, and it will be a fastback built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform.
